Identity verification is the next part of setting up your UniCash account. You complete it right after you create your account. It's a one-time process — once it's done, your account is ready to use.
Why verification is required
To meet our regulatory and anti-fraud obligations, all users must verify their identity before they can start using UniCash. This protects users, merchants, and the integrity of the platform.
The 5 verification steps

Mobile phone verification
Confirm ownership of your mobile number via a one-time SMS code. This is completed during initial sign-up.

Email verification
Enter your email address and confirm it via a one-time code sent to your inbox.

Government photo ID
Upload a clear photo of your government-issued photo ID. Accepted documents: passport or driver's licence.

Address verification
Enter your residential address — start typing and select it from the address suggestions.

Facial liveness check
Complete a short liveness check using your phone's front camera. This confirms you're a real person and matches your face to your ID photo.
What happens after verification
Once you're verified, you'll see a confirmation in the app and can begin using all the features right away.
Your account has the following limits:
- Maximum balance: 1,000 UNC at any time
- Daily top-up limit: 2,000 UNC (rolling 24-hour window)
- 30-day top-up limit: 15,000 UNC (rolling 30-day window)
How long does verification take?
Most verifications are processed automatically within a few minutes. In some cases, additional review by our team is needed and can take up to 1 business day. You'll receive a notification when your account is verified.
My verification didn't pass — what now?
If a check doesn't pass, you'll see the reason on screen straight away, so you can fix it and try again. Common causes include:
- ID photo was blurry, too dark, or partially cut off
- The ID document is expired
- Your selfie couldn't be matched to your ID photo
Just tap Try again and re-take the photo or selfie. If it still doesn't pass after a few attempts, we'll review your submission and email you within 1 business day. You can also reach us any time at [email protected].
